You’ve missed one of the greatest lines ever from a book that I really did not enjoy, Sebastian Horsley’s Dandy in the Underworld:

I was lying in bed withdrawing savagely from crack and heroin when she waltzed in looking like a fruit cart, perched on the end of the bed and said, ‘Have a failed you as a mother Sylvester?’

I said, ‘It’s Sebastian mother.’
