Maybe Cole Schafer hasn’t read many African writers? Can you suggest anything? Chinua Achebe must have a few good ones?

When you say writers of African descent, do you include African Americans? Because Walter Mosely is never short of a good line, and Angela Flournoy’s The Turner House is gorgeous. Maybe Cole Schafer isn’t reading them either.

Or maybe he’s just gone for a list of older classics, when writers published in English were mostly white men.
